Deliciously local Leicestershire Honey & Pollen Products
A Community-Driven Honey Initiative
Welcome to Six Hills Honey
Welcome to Six Hills Honey – where deliciously local Leicestershire honey is helping to re-build lives after drug and alcohol addiction.
Six Hills Honey is a new venture designed to raise funds for men seeking to overcome drug and alcohol addiction at The Carpenter’s Arms residential treatment centres.
The community impact project will produce:
- Raw honey
Offering beneficial antioxidants, nutrients and enzymes often lost in the processing of honey. - Honey with honeycomb
Raw, unprocessed honey unaltered from its original, edible hexagonal beeswax cells. - Bee pollen
Granules of natural high-protein superpower which can be eaten on their own or added to juices, smoothies and salads.

A Community-Driven Honey Initiative
Six Hills Honey was conceived by The Carpenter’s Arms CEO Richard Spence and Operations Director Scott Wheatley. It will operate as a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) which means it will trade for community benefit, not for private profit.
We anticipate the first harvest of honey to be available in the autumn, 2026.

Expanding Across Two Key Sites
A total of 100 beehives is planned – 50 at The Carpenter’s Arms Six Hills site, which sits partway between Melton Mowbray and Loughborough, and a further 50 on a site in Melton Mowbray where a significant amount of land has been made available for the charity’s use.

Building on the Malone Meadows Vision
The project is a natural complement to the charity’s Malone Meadows initiative at Six Hills. This once-derelict wasteland is firmly becoming a purposeful site where chickens are being reared and eggs produced, fruit trees grown and fruit and vegetable beds tended.
